Canon

When I moved from Film to digital in 2005 I decided to opt for Canon. As I have added to my equipment and bought new lenses over the years the cost imperatives of changing to say Nikon has become more imposing. I currently use the MKIV 5D, but have still kept the MKIII and a 6D.

Now however, with mirrorless cameras appearing to be taking over and with them a new lens mount system that consideration is less dramatic. The new Canon R5 sounds very impressive but at over £4,000 I will be using only half a camera as video does not appeal to me. The R5 maybe an “upgrade” too far and Nikon’s Z7 a very worthwhile consideration.

Gitzo / Lee Filters

The Gitzo GT35/42 xls tripod weighs in at 6.9lbs (3,141g) including self balancing head and RRS ball head and has an overall height of 82" (208cm). Its a pity the MKiv does not have a moveable back screen.

Lee Filters ND Grads from soft through medium to hard for 2;3 & 4 stops plus little and big stopper.
